Log of the SPACESHIP Earth, 991128
28 November 1999, Sunday

Space Shuttle (dinghy) is all patched Spare dinghy engine works fine, we'll fix the new one in St Martin. The breeze is back out of the east after 8 days of west wind with five foot swells in an anchorage that usually has 6 inch ripples. Wendy found the anchor and chain we had to slip. We feel thankful and fortunate.

Damage to island: road in front of Schooner's is buckled and impassable; the retaining wall collapsed under it Schooner's stone fence is gone, but the buildings all survived beaches 4' deep on lawns and roads people shoveling sand into feed bags, wheelbarrows, bulldozer pushing sand off the roads shells on top of 4' wall that held, most walls gone lily pond full of sand Damage heard on radio.

Anguilla: water 14' deep in town St. Lucia ships go to T&T; St Lucia harbor damaged (which one?) St Kitts and Nevis severe flooding: electricity and water back on today(21st) St Martin and St Barts got the worst with the eye crossing back and forth over them a number of times, hopefully they've recovered

991130 Tuesday still in Bequia, but ready to leave We're off north tomorrow heading for St Martin and Antigua We'll look at the damage to other islands on our way
